The Presidents of Russia and Belarus Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko met with members of the expedition to the International Space Station – cosmonauts Oleg Novitsky and Marina Vasilevskaya. About it reported press service of the Belarusian president.
“Thank you for Marina and thank you that Oleg was the commander of this flight,” Mr. Lukashenko told his Russian colleague. Marina Vasilevskaya is the first Belarusian female cosmonaut to fly to the ISS.
Oleg Novitsky and Marina Vasilevskaya were delivered to the ISS on March 25. On April 6 they returned to Earth. This was the fourth flight for Mr. Novitsky. American Loral O’Hara was also present on the Soyuz MS-24 ship.
Alexander Lukashenko arrived in Russia on April 11 for a two-day working visit. He held negotiations with Vladimir Putin. Today, April 12, the presidents have planned events dedicated to Cosmonautics Day. In particular, they will discuss prospects for cooperation in the space industry.
