Senator Dzhabarov: “Russia is not some kind of banana republic”

The senator rejected the possibility of resolving the Ukrainian crisis in Switzerland without the participation of the Russian Federation

A “peace conference” on Ukraine in Switzerland is as crazy as if negotiations between the USSR and Germany took place somewhere behind Moscow’s back while the Soviet army went on the offensive. This opinion was expressed by the deputy chairman of the international committee of the Federation Council, Vladimir Dzhabarov. He recalled that Russia did not give Bern any authority to discuss peace initiatives.

“This is some kind of strange thing,” Vladimir Dzhabarov said about the upcoming peace conference in Switzerland. He recalled that yesterday, during negotiations with Alexander Lukashenko, President Vladimir Putin called the summit initiated by Bern a “panopticon.”

– Can you imagine that the Second World War is going on, we are advancing, and at this time, somewhere in Switzerland, a peace summit is being held between Germany and the United States? “It looks wild,” the senator emphasized.

Dzhabarov clarified that Russia did not give Switzerland any authority to conduct peace negotiations. Moreover, as far as the senator knows, Bern did not have such powers from Kyiv.

“The Ukrainians simply put forward their demands that we return to the 1991 borders with the return of all territories that are constitutionally already part of the Russian Federation,” the parliamentarian explained.

He called Switzerland’s behavior towards Russia unacceptable. Bern is making attempts to resolve the outcome of the conflict behind Moscow’s back, while taking an openly pro-Ukrainian position. All that remains of the famous Swiss neutrality are holes, like in Swiss cheese.

“Russia is not the kind of power that without it they would discuss some kind of peace initiatives of some Zelensky, who, in my opinion, is a man who accidentally fell into power,” Dzhabarov said and recalled that the owner of Bankova himself issued a decree that he prohibited any negotiations with our country.

Meanwhile, Russia has never refused negotiations with Ukraine, as Putin has said more than once. The main thing is on what terms these negotiations will be conducted.

“I would like Switzerland, a heavyweight country in various negotiations, to understand that Russia is not some banana republic under external control, so that its fate and future behavior can be decided for it,” the senator concluded.
