The Sevastopol authorities have decided to cancel the state purchase on lease of French Citroën cars intended for use in the State Autonomous Institution “State Expertise of the City of Sevastopol”. This was announced by Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev. According to him, the officials who allowed this will be fired.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that all civil servants are required to choose domestic cars. He also stressed the undesirability of the practice of purchasing foreign cars for government needs. This statement received support in the State Duma, where it was decided that the deputies would give preference to cars of domestic brands, such as Moskvich, Lada, Aurus and Volga.
According to the governor, he saw information about the purchase of Citroens in a number of telegram channels, and this caused him bewilderment. He ordered to cancel the purchase.
