Experts believe that the younger generation has developed a hostile attitude towards law enforcement officers
Activists of the Russian Public Initiative proposed to introduce educational and educational programs for children and youth to eradicate hatred towards law enforcement agencies. Experts believe that the younger generation has developed a hostile and even dismissive attitude towards law enforcement officers and this should be corrected.
As “MK” found out, social activists took the initiative to introduce programs in all preschool and school educational institutions to instill in children and youth respect for the current legislation and law enforcement agencies. To do this, pupils and schoolchildren are invited to study the principles of the work of the guardians of the law, as well as the laws themselves, which they are obliged to comply with.
As the authors of the petition explain, after the collapse of the USSR, a persistent negative attitude towards law enforcement officers formed among the young strata of Russian society. In society, insulting names of employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system have even become entrenched – such as “cop”, “garbage”, etc. Moreover, a negative attitude began to manifest itself not only towards law enforcement officers, but also towards persons helping their work, who began to be called informers. So-called informers were hated no less than dangerous criminals. As a result: the efficiency of law enforcement officers has fallen markedly. According to folk experts, little has changed at present. If in the USSR society was ready to help the work of the police for free, now citizens do not want to take part in this even while maintaining anonymity. All of the above led to sad consequences: in the event of an accident, young people, instead of helping the victims, film the tragedy on a phone camera, so that they can later post it on social networks.
