Space cargo ship “Progress MS-23” on Wednesday, May 24, successfully docked to the International Space Station (ISS). This information was confirmed by Roscosmos, which broadcast the docking.
Progress MS-23 delivered more than 2.5 tons of cargo to the ISS: fuel and compressed gases, water, equipment and packing tools for experiments, clothing and food for crew members.
Along with this, the URM-D universal workstation was delivered to the station, which the cosmonauts will install on the outer surface of the Zvezda module, as well as the Parus-MGTU nanosatellite.
In addition, the space truck brought equipment that the ISS crew members will use in the scientific and experimental program.
Meanwhile, Russian scientists are working on improving the process of docking spacecraft with the ISS. The method developed at the Research Institute of Precision Instruments will help to significantly suppress re-reflected signals in the Kurs docking system due to more advanced digital processing of the totality of received data.
Russian President Vladimir Putin noted earlier that the Russian space industry steadily increasing its potential. This, in particular, is evidenced by a hundred accident-free launches in a row – for the first time in the modern history of the country.
