Profits of state-owned companies fell by more than half at the end of the year – Kommersant

In 2022, the profit of Russian companies with state participation amounted to more than 2 trillion rubles, which is 52% less than the results of 2021. This was reported RBC with reference to Rosstat data.
By the end of 2022, there were 507 joint-stock companies in which the state owns more than 25% or has a special right to participate in management, compared to 646 in 2021. Among them are Gazprom, Russian Railways, ALROSA, Rosseti, VTB, Sberbank, RusHydro, Rosneftegaz, Aeroflot and others. About two-thirds of state-owned companies received net profit at the end of the year.
The balanced profit of such companies amounted to 2.136 trillion rubles. Earlier, Rosstat reported the balanced result of large and medium-sized enterprises, including state-owned companies, but without state institutions. At the end of 2022, their profit decreased by 12.6%, to 25.93 trillion rubles.
RBC notes that from a comparison of these two indicators, it follows that the profit of state-owned companies fell more than in the commercial sector as a whole.
Among joint-stock companies with state participation, the leaders in terms of profit were companies operating in the sectors of wholesale and retail trade, as well as the repair of vehicles and motorcycles. Their balanced profit amounted to about 1 trillion rubles, which is three times less than the results of 2021. RBC notes that in the all-Russian classifier of types of economic activity, these companies belong to the same section. Among them is Gazprom, which reported a profit of 747 billion rubles. at the end of 2022.
