Russian exports exceeded 2019 figures for a number of items – Kommersant

According to the results of the first quarter, import indicators in Russia turned out to be “in total not worse” than a year earlier, Ruslan Davydov, acting head of the Federal Customs Service (FCS), told TASS. According to him, the volume of exports for some items exceeded the figures for 2019.
According to Mr. Davydov, this year “imports are going very well.” “I won’t say that everything is record-breaking… Last year, before the start of the NWO, imports were record-breaking, then there was a fall. If you look at the first quarter of last year, our total results are no worse than last year,” he said.
The acting head of the FCS assures that the volume of exports from the Russian Federation, with the exception of oil and gas, did not suffer much due to sanctions. “Export – oil and gas workers have certain difficulties, but they will also adapt. Otherwise, our volumes did not suffer, and when compared with 2019, they even increased for some positions,” he says.
In March, the FCS partially resumed publication of foreign trade data. At the end of 2022, its turnover increased by 8.1% year-on-year, to $850.5 billion. In the first quarter of 2023, the FCS lowered transfers to the budget by 35.1% year-on-year, up to 1.288 trillion rubles.
