JSC Research Institute of Molecular Electronics is actively increasing the production of critical electronic components. The details were revealed by the Minister of the Moscow Government, Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy of the capital Vladislav Ovchinsky.

“A resident of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ has developed silicon capacitors and set up their production. They are used in secondary power supplies for communication, navigation and radar equipment modules. Production started in the third quarter of 2023. The production volume of this type of product has already exceeded a million units,” said Vladislav Ovchinsky. He emphasized that the driver of the development of microelectronics was the demand for components produced in Russia. A capacitor stores electrical charge and transfers energy to other elements of the electrical circuit. And the use of a silicon wafer as the basis for production makes it possible to increase the production volume of products and increase their availability.

“Located on the territory of a special economic zone, it conducts research and development work in the field of micro- and nanoelectronics. Over the three quarters of the previous year, the company created 96 new jobs, investments during the same period amounted to about 34.6 million rubles,” said Gennady Degtev, CEO of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ. Today, the company is actively improving the characteristics of its products. Soon production volumes will increase to 1.5 million products per year.
