Meteorologist announced freezing rains after frosts in central Russia

Monday in the Russian capital will be spoiled by freezing rain. The leading specialist of the Phobos center, Mikhail Leus, warned about this.

According to him, bad weather will be brought to Moscow by an atmospheric front approaching from the southwest. Warm and moist air masses from the Mediterranean over the snow-covered and frozen Russian Plain will begin to cool quickly. As a result, precipitation will fall in a mixed phase. The probability of supercooled precipitation will be high. The forecaster recalled that ice would increase the weight load, which could lead to falling trees and broken power lines. At the same time, Leus clarified that light precipitation will begin in the late afternoon on Sunday, but initially it will fall in the form of snow.

At the same time, the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center, Roman Vilfand, believes that precipitation will fall in the form of snow. As he told RIA Novosti, light snowfall will begin in the afternoon on Sunday and continue at night and in the first half of the day on Monday.
