Primorsky hockey club “Admiral” won the Far Eastern derby with a score of 1:2 OT (0:0, 0:0, 1:1, 0:1). In six games, the Sailors earned eight points, ahead of their Khabarovsk rivals, HC Amur, by just one point.
In the epic confrontation between the teams, which became the final stage of the competition, the first period ended without a goal. Despite intense play and plenty of attacks, neither team was able to excel in scoring goals. Thus, the first part of the match ended in a draw.
The second period continued the trend of headless fighting. Players from both teams demonstrated their skills, but the stands were disappointed by the lack of goals throughout the entire period.
However, the third period lived up to all expectations and became the real highlight of the match. At the forty-fourth minute, the long-awaited event happened – Admiral managed to open the scoring during the power play. It was Pankratov, who brilliantly corrected Shulak’s throw, and brought his team an incredibly important advantage.
“In overtime, the “sailors” acted much more interesting than their opponents; Anokhovsky and Gutik could have finished the game ahead of schedule, but Korshkov did it, scoring a double and bringing victory to “Amur” in this match.
