The head of Noyabrsk, Alexey Romanov, went live on his social networks on December 20 and spoke about plans to develop sports infrastructure in the city. The new building of the ski lodge will open on December 23 at 14:00, Romanov said.
“As part of the “Honest Route”, Yamal Governor Dmitry Artyukhov visited our ski base, we discussed the installation of a small pavilion for the locker room and biathlon department. But next to it there would remain the old ski lodge building – wooden and already worn out. It makes more sense to dismantle it and make a new one. Therefore, today there is a modular building of 720 square meters with a shooting range for pneumatic shooting from ten meters. Also inside there is a sports hall, locker rooms, and coaching facilities,” said Alexey Romanov.
According to him, for now the facility is called a ski base, but it is possible that it will be renamed a ski sports center. The mayor urged residents of Noyabrsk to think about the name.
Yamal residents, asking questions of Romanov, asked him for an indoor sports stadium for running and athletics in any weather. The head of Noyabrsk noted that first we need to do what has been started and planned in the field of sports infrastructure.
“We are building a sports and recreation complex in the ninth microdistrict – we will introduce it in 2024, here we will have volleyball, table tennis and boxing. The plans include a sports complex on Muravlenko. We are carrying out a major overhaul of the Arktika, we will complete it by the end of the year and open the facility in January, our basketball players will return here. We are building “Northern Character” on the basis of a former shopping center, and we will open a martial arts center next year. Then nothing will stop us from thinking about designing an indoor arena at the same time, if we can find the required number of arguments,” said Alexey Romanov.
