The size of the presidential scholarship for graduate students in the new format will be 75 thousand rubles, said Deputy Head of the Ministry of Education and Science Denis Sekirinsky. According to him, the decree is “at a high stage of approval” and could be issued before the end of November.

“I expect that it will already be published before the Congress of Young Scientists, which will take place on November 28–30,” said Mr. Sekirinsky “RIA News”. He suggested that by the end of the year the government could also issue the necessary decree and begin selection for the scholarship.

The scholarship in a new format is being introduced on behalf of the President following a meeting with the Congress of Young Scientists. The tool is expected to support “the best in terms of their potential results and in the areas that matter most.” Postgraduate students and their supervisors will participate in the competition. The former will receive money, and the latter will act as a guarantor that the dissertation research will be completed.
