Oncologists and hematologists in Moscow will be able to renew prescriptions for drugs prescribed to patients remotely. This was announced by the vice-mayor of the capital Anastasia Rakova. This, she stressed, will reduce the burden on doctors and make life easier for patients. The new rules for dispensing medicines, giving the right to all medical institutions in the country to issue electronic prescriptions, came into force on March 1. However, as noted by the President of the Society of Hemophilia Patients Yuri Zhulev, citizens still had to visit hospitals to receive the so-called electronic prescription on paper. He hopes the Moscow experience will be a “huge breakthrough” for all chronically ill patients.
