“The measles viruses that circulate in Russia were imported from 16 different countries,” Popova explained. A total of 123 cases of importation with subsequent spread were registered. “This is a lot,” the head of the department emphasized. “This suggests that the world around is burning with measles.”
Popova noted that at the moment the measles situation is under control, “unvaccinated people get it.” The head of Rospotrebnadzor once again reminded citizens of the country that vaccination reliably protects against measles.
