Head of Rospotrebnadzor: there is no need for mass vaccination against coronavirus in Russia
The head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova said that there is no need for mass vaccination against coronavirus infection in Russia, since the peak of the incidence has already been passed.
“The Russian Federation does not carry out mass immunization. Yes, we had an upsurge, but according to the classic seasonal disease, it has already gone away, and today there is an incidence, but it does not have the properties of an epidemic spread,” Popova said in an interview on the Rossiya-24 TV channel.
But she emphasized that a doctor can prescribe a vaccination for a patient if he sees the need for it. Especially for those who are at risk for severe disease.
Popova added that when an infection occurs, it is important to make a correct diagnosis. Coronavirus and influenza have different treatment regimens, so at the first symptoms you should immediately seek medical help.
