Popova said that the incidence of coronavirus has declined

The head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, said that last week the rate of growth in the incidence of coronavirus slowed down. According to her, so far the authorities do not see the need to introduce any new anti-coronavirus restrictions.

“The current epidemiological situation regarding the new coronavirus infection has certain features, but does not cause much stress. We have seen growth for six weeks, today is Monday, and this is the first week, the past week, where we see a slowdown in growth,” Anna Popova told reporters at the Eastern Economic Forum (quoted by TASS). According to her, peak incidence rates have been passed in Moscow, the Moscow region and St. Petersburg.

Anna Popova added that today there is no need to introduce additional anti-coronavirus restrictions. She noted that it is important to comply with those that are already in effect. Ms. Popova also said that there is no information about the lack of a coronavirus vaccine. She added that you need to continue to be vaccinated against coronavirus.

Since July 1, all coronavirus restrictions have been lifted in Russia. In the summer, the incidence rate in Russia began to rise, and a more contagious subvariant of the centaur omicron strain was also identified in the country. Roszdravnadzor recommended resuming vaccination in regions with a high incidence rate. Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko declaredthat it is necessary to strengthen preventive measures to protect against COVID-19, since an increase in the incidence is predicted in the near future.
