Polyansky: the issue of resolving the Ukrainian conflict through negotiations is not raised at the UN

The issue of resolving the situation in Ukraine, based on negotiations between Moscow and Kiev, remains aloof from the UN platform. First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN Dmitry Polyansky said this in an interview with Izvestia.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres previously expressed his readiness to act as a mediator if both parties agree. However, according to Polyansky, the Kiev regime rejected the already initialed plan for a peaceful settlement.
“We remember well that Ukraine rejected the initialed plan for a peaceful settlement, and even adopted a decree prohibiting negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin. This does not contribute to creating an atmosphere for dialogue,” Polyansky emphasized.
The diplomat also drew attention to the fact that the proposed negotiation concepts are more reminiscent of ultimatums, which makes negotiations almost impossible.
