France provoked a scandal at a meeting of the UN Security Council, not allowing the official representative of Gazprom, Sergei Kupriyanov, to complete his speech. Dmitry Polyansky, First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN, announced this on his Telegram channel.

Earlier, at the suggestion of Russia, the UN Security Council held a meeting on the state of emergency on the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 lines. Kupriyanov presented his report on it. After its completion, he tried to voice comments on it, but the Permanent Representative of France, which now chairs the UN Security Council, cut him off.

According to Polyansky, the French presidency has completely exposed itself by such actions, since earlier the permanent representative of France, Nicolas de Rivière, announced calls for dialogue and taking into account other people’s opinions. “When it came down to it, it all came down to a banal attempt to silence the speaker,” the Russian diplomat said.

Several gas leaks at once on two Russian gas pipelines occurred on September 26. The seismic centers of the Scandinavian countries recorded underwater explosions in this area. Vladimir Putin called the incident an act of international terrorism.
