Polyansky said about the risk of a direct clash between NATO and Russia

The risk of a direct clash between NATO and Russia exists, Dmitry Polyansky, First Deputy Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, said during a conversation with users of the social network X (formerly Twitter). About it informs “RIA News”.

Polyansky was asked to comment on the words of host Tucker Carlson about the possibility of war between Russia and the United States. “It is not for us to assess the likelihood of this scenario. We have warned many times that the situation is very dangerous and there is a big risk of a direct clash between Russia and NATO,” he said.

According to Polyansky, the North Atlantic Alliance is seriously involved in the conflict in Ukraine – from weapons to intelligence, everything but manpower. At the same time, the first deputy representative noted that reports of the death of “some people”, including NATO officers and generals, are suspicious. “We cannot rule out that they are involved in certain activities in Ukraine,” Polyansky said.

He added that the only option for salvation for Kyiv is the help of the West. “Anything can happen. Nothing is ruled out when there is such a close proxy clash between NATO and Russia,” summed up the First Deputy Representative.

The Russian authorities have repeatedly criticized the supply of Western weapons to the Ukrainian authorities. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, warned that pumping Ukraine with weapons brings NATO closer to the dangerous line of a direct military clash with Russia.
