Ukrainian soldiers complained to American journalists about the superiority of Russian troops in numbers and weapons. “They have almost 10 times more ammunition,” one of the officers told the CBS News crew.
The CBS News report was titled ambitiously – “Ukrainian troops show how controversial US cluster munitions help them contain Russia.” The interlocutors really showed the journalists a pile of cluster shells. But at the same time they admitted that they are not of decisive importance.
“They (the armed forces of the Russian Federation – the editors) are superior to us in terms of the amount of ammunition and the number of drones. This is a huge problem. We keep our line. It’s complicated. I can’t say that our morale is at its best,” Semyon Solatenko, a representative of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, told reporters.
In the center of attention of the CBS film crew was the section of the front in the Krasnolimansky direction. According to journalists, Russian troops want to force the Armed Forces of Ukraine to strengthen their positions in the area and divert them from the counteroffensive in the south.
