The Election Commission of the Donetsk People’s Republic decided to close polling stations on a single voting day not at 20:00, but at 15:00. The decision was made due to high turnout on the first two days of voting and during early voting.

“In addition, this decision was also influenced by our desire to ensure the safety of not only voters, but also members of our precinct commissions. Closing the polling stations at 3 p.m. will allow our colleagues to count the votes, bring all the necessary documents in line with the requirements of the current legislation on higher election commissions during daylight hours,” said Vladimir Vysotsky, chairman of the regional election commission (video commentary published in Telegram channel election commission). He noted that election officials received threats during the elections.

The turnout in the elections of deputies of the People’s Council of the DPR was 74.01%, in the elections of deputies of the Donetsk City Council – 68.32%.
