Police officer from Nekrasovka received 10 years in prison for fictitious registration of migrants

More than three million rubles was earned by a police officer for illegally registering migrants. Trying to justify himself, the man called the money a bonus that his boss paid him for extracurricular work.

As it became known to MK, an employee of the migration department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Nekrasovka district was in the dock. The former district police officer got a job there, first as a senior inspector, then as a leading specialist. His duties included migration registration of foreign citizens, issuance of duplicate migration cards upon request.

As the policeman said after the arrest, in June 2017, he learned from the boss that the owner of several hotels on Pokrovskaya and Rozhdestvenskaya streets would submit notifications of the arrival of foreign citizens to the migration department. For each registered, he will transfer 700 rubles. In this case, the share of the specialist will be half.

The employee realized that this was a fictitious migration registration, and citizens would not live at the specified addresses, but agreed to the offer. As a result, on average, the amount of incentives reached 200 thousand rubles per month. Then the payment for each migrant increased to 1,000 rubles. In total, the man received more than 3 million rubles as a result of such migration registration of citizens. An interesting detail: the owner of the hotels had a stamp from the passport office and he took the documents to the table with him.

At the trial, the accused retracted his initial testimony and explained that the money received was just gratitude from the boss for overtime work. Like, a large volume of documents was received, and I had to go out on non-working days.

During the arrest, an article for illegal possession of ammunition was added to the charge of organizing illegal migration: 9 cartridges were found in the policeman’s apartment.

The Kuzminsky District Court sentenced an employee of the migration department to 10 years in a strict regime colony and for six years was banned from holding civil service positions in the law enforcement system related to the exercise of the functions of a representative of power for a period of six years. He was also fined 8 million 574 thousand 789 rubles.
