Poland announced a cessation of arms supplies to Ukraine

Poland has stopped supplying Ukraine with weapons, as it is arming itself, said Prime Minister of the Republic Mateusz Morawiecki.

“We are no longer transferring any weapons to Ukraine based on the fact that we ourselves are now arming ourselves with the most modern weapons,” – said he is on air on the Polsat TV channel (quote from RIA Novosti).

Warsaw recognizes the principle that “if you don’t want to defend yourself, you must have something to defend yourself with,” Morawiecki added. According to him, Poland has increased orders for weapons.

In August, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Paweł Jabłoński statedthat relations between Warsaw and Kyiv have worsened due to statements by the Ukrainian authorities. He then clarified that the republic supports Kyiv “to the extent that it meets the national interests of Poland.”

Previously September 20 Yablonsky expressed a strong protest to the Ambassador of Ukraine in Warsaw Vasily Zvarych because of the wording contained in the statement of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky at the UN General Assembly forum. In particular, they talked about Zelensky’s theses that some EU countries are imitating solidarity, while at the same time indirectly supporting Russia. This happened against the background of disagreements between three Eastern European countries and Kyiv over the extension of the embargo on the import of Ukrainian grain.

At the same time, the United States is in 12th place in the ranking of those supporting Ukraine by share of its GDP. The Baltic countries are in first place, where Estonia occupies the leading position (1.26% of GDP), followed by Latvia (1.09%) and Lithuania (0.95%). The list also includes Poland with 0.86%.
