Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, said that Ukraine has the legal right to destroy everything that is located on the territory of Crimea, the Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republics, as well as on the territory of the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. At the same time, he clarified that Kyiv would not solve the problem of the conflict in Ukraine with strikes on Moscow.
This statement was made after the Washington Post reported that Ukraine planned to strike Russia in February 2023. However, the main intelligence department of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry postponed the attacks at the request of Washington.
Podolyak stressed that Ukraine depends on cooperation with partners in the field of weapons and how they are used. He also stated that Ukraine has other priority targets besides Moscow, and that they have the legal right to destroy everything located on the territory of the aforementioned regions.
“Why does Ukraine, which today absolutely depends on full interaction with partners regarding weapons and how we use them, and what military task would we perform – for example? us other priority goals… What is guaranteed to us international law, that is, we legally have the right to destroy everything that is on the territory of Crimea, Luhansk (LPR – ed.), Donetsk (DPR – ed.), Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
