Podolyak rejected the idea of NATO membership in exchange for territories

Adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Mykhailo Podolyak criticized the statement of the chief of staff of NATO Secretary General Stian Jenssen, who admitted that Kiev could get membership in the alliance in exchange for giving up part of the territories in favor of Russia.
“Exchanging territory for a NATO umbrella? Strange,” Podolyak tweeted, adding that it meant “deliberately losing to democracy.” He also suggested that in this case the conflict would be carried over to the next generations.
Podolyak added that attempts to preserve world order through a “bad peace” would bring not peace, but “shame and war.”
He also asked why the West is offering Ukraine a scenario that suits Russia, instead of “accelerating the supply of weapons.”
Recall that earlier, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev wrote in his Telegram channel that Ukraine would have to give up even Kyiv in order to join NATO, and move the capital to Lviv.
