Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Irina Vereshchuk urged to tell the citizens of the country the truth that the conflict will not end either this fall or spring 2024.
“We must be honest,” she wrote on her Telegram channel, adding that all statements that “2-3 weeks”, “until the end of the year”, “next spring” are left before the end of the conflict are not true.
“We must prepare ourselves for a long struggle. Citizens and the authorities must all prepare ourselves for a long and difficult war,” Vereshchuk stressed. She figuratively noted that you need to tune in for a marathon, and not for a sprint, and for a fight of 12 rounds, not three.
She also called for corruption to be considered high treason and a moratorium on “politicking and bawling.”
Vereshchuk also recommended that Ukrainians not think “about later”, but do the maximum “here and now.”
