Podolyak called negotiations with Russia a death sentence for Ukraine

Negotiations between Russia and Ukraine in the current situation is a death sentence, declared in an interview with The Hill, the head of the office of the Ukrainian president, Mikhail Podolyak.
“The president [Владимир] Zelensky is definitely against it [переговоров]and Ukrainian society is adamant about this, because we are fully aware of the risks,” Podolyak stressed.
He expressed confidence that the weapons supplied by Western countries to Ukraine could turn the tide of hostilities. Russia, in turn, can take advantage of any pause to remobilize and launch an even stronger attack on Ukraine. It is for this reason that negotiations between the two countries are unacceptable, Podolyak added.
Since the beginning of Russia’s special operation in Ukraine, the parties have held peace talks several times. The last meeting was held on March 29 in Istanbul. During them, Ukraine proposed a new system of security guarantees, which, among other things, include the neutral status of the state. Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that security guarantees should be provided not only to Ukraine, but also to all European countries, as well as Russia.
On February 24, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, the goals of which were declared to be denazification, demilitarization of the country and the liberation of the LPR and DPR. On July 3, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu reported to President Vladimir Putin about entering the administrative borders of the LPR.
