Unlike the main Victory parade in Moscow, over which planes did not fly today, the organizers of the parade in Volgograd on May 9 nevertheless decided to hold an air part. Soviet An-2s flew at low altitude and dropped patriotic leaflets on the townspeople.
According to eyewitnesses, the leaflets were copies of posters from the Great Patriotic War. For example, one contained a caricature of Hitler. Another version of the leaflet had a quote attributed to Kuzma Minin: “There is no such force that would enslave us.” Below on the sheet were quoted the words of Joseph Stalin: “Let the courageous image of our great ancestors inspire you in this war.”
“Volgograd truth” writesthat the parade ended with a “spectacular flight of the pilots of the Russian Air Races”, who “lined up” in the form of one of the symbols “of the special operation” as a sign of support for the fighters of the NVO. At the same time, V1.ru tellsthat not all spectators appreciated the maneuvers of air equipment – according to eyewitnesses, there was some kind of hitch with the aircraft: “We realized that <...> there will be something else just because the governor carefully and for a long time peered into the sky … “
In the administration of the Volgograd region declared I will “rise” that the action with the dropping of leaflets has been going on for more than a year and that Volgograd residents are delighted.
“Residents like it very much,” said the perpetrators. “Leaflets are scattered quite safely.”
