Leading specialist at the Phobos weather center Evgeniy Tishkovets reportedthat the coming winter will be relatively mild and snowy. According to him, December will be a degree to one and a half colder than normal, but February and January will be up to three degrees warmer than normal.
According to the Phobos expert, January will be 2-3 degrees Celsius warmer than normal with precipitation 10% higher than normal (normal: night -12.3°C, day -6.5°C, precipitation – 42 mm). February will be 3.0–3.5 degrees above normal, while precipitation will be 30% more than usual (normal: night -11.1°C, day -4.2°C, precipitation – 36 mm).
Temperatures in northwestern Russia will be closer to normal. In other parts of Russia, the average seasonal temperature will be 1-3 degrees, in the south of the Urals and Western Siberia – 3-5 degrees above normal.
Precipitation may exceed the norm in mid-latitudes. “That is, the coming winter as a whole will be relatively mild and snowy, with the exception of a cold false start,” said Evgeny Tishkovets.
