The wife of People’s Artist of the RSFSR Yevgeny Petrosyan Tatyana Brukhunova explained her reluctance to take her husband’s surname. Answering questions on Instagram (the social network is banned in Russia; owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation),
Brukhunova stated that she did not change her last name after marriage with a comedian. The couple registered their relationship in December 2019.
“I am my father’s daughter,” she said, emphasizing that she intends to carry her maiden name “until the last day of her life.” In general, the tradition of changing surnames by wives seems to her already outdated.
