Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Moscow is not aware of any statements by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan about the absence of advantages in having a Russian military base in the country.

“We don’t yet know whether he said these words,” Peskov said. “And if he did, then where, in what context.”

Earlier, The Wall Street Journal reported that Pashinyan said in an interview that he sees no advantage in maintaining a Russian base in Armenia. A verbatim quote was not provided.

Peskov added that “we cannot take the Wall Street Journal as a primary source.”
