The Kremlin has neither the intention nor the ability to monitor the stay of opposition leader Alexei Navalny (included in the list of terrorists and extremists in the Russian Federation) in prison. This was announced by the press secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov.
“No, we have neither the intention nor the ability to track the fate of prisoners and the process of their stay…” he answered reporters when asked a question.
Commenting on the United States’ statements of concern for Navalny’s fate, Peskov said that he was found guilty by law, and any intervention is impossible, in particular from the United States.
Earlier, the official representative of the American State Department, Matthew Miller, expressed concern about the fate of Alexei Navalny, and said that he had brought these thoughts to the Cabinet of Ministers of the Russian Federation.
