Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov explained why Vladimir Putin wore a pea jacket during his trip to Primorye. He said he only needed the camouflage jacket to keep out the cold. According to the press secretary, this has nothing to do with the special operation in Ukraine.
“No, not connected in any way. And the president was not in military uniform, he really put on a military jacket, and this is due to the fact that it was very cold and it was pouring downpour,” said Mr. Peskov, answering a journalist during a briefing.
Asked if Vladimir Putin’s pea coat was a step toward becoming a general, the presidential spokesman repeated: “No, the only goal pursued is to protect oneself from cold and rain.”
The Vostok-2022 exercises, which Mr. Putin observed, were held from September 1 to 7 at seven training grounds in the Eastern Military District. The President attended on the 6th, and on the 7th he went to Vladivostok to take part in the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF).
