Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Kremlin officials are going to file income declarations by April 1. He noted that the Kremlin considers the publication of declarations a secondary issue.
“Now there is no such obligation, but we will all file,” Dmitry Peskov said. TASS.
Mr. Peskov also gave a negative answer to the question whether there is a common position in the Kremlin on the issue of publishing declarations. “I repeat once again, this is not necessary, we proceed from this first of all. The main thing is to submit a declaration, and publication is secondary,” he said.
In December, Vladimir Putin signed a decree allowing officials not to publish declarations. By the same document, some categories of the military were allowed not to submit information about their income for the duration of the military operation in Ukraine. In February, Mr. Putin also allowed senators and deputies to publish data on income in an anonymized form.
