Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the decision to postpone the start of the planned fall draft to the army was due to mobilization.
According to Peskov, now the military registration and enlistment offices are overloaded and work in an enhanced mode. The transfer of the autumn conscription to November will make it possible to separate the flows of mobilized and conscripts, he noted.
“In order not to aggravate this overload, such a decision was made,” Peskov said.
On Friday, September 30, President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on a new call for military service. According to the document, 120 thousand citizens will be called up from November 1 – earlier, the autumn call began on October 1.
