Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov did not rule out that the President’s message to the Federal Assembly will take place at the end of February – beginning of March. Sources in the presidential administration told Kommersant that the announcement of the message is scheduled for the period between February 23 and March 8.
“We cannot exclude this,” Mr. Peskov said during a press call when asked about holding the message during the specified period.
On February 2, Dmitry Peskov said that the preparation of the message was already underway. As Kommersant’s interlocutors said, the exact date of the event has not yet been determined. According to them, the end of February is being discussed, but the message could shift to the beginning of March.
The interlocutors suggested that one of the key themes of the message would be Russian sovereignty – “technological, scientific, military.” Most likely, Vladimir Putin will not ignore the topic of military operations, economics and demography, sources say.
