The Minister of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine asked for resignation
One of the Ukrainian government ministers may resign. We are talking about the country’s Minister of Veterans Affairs, Yulia Laputina. Parliament Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk announced that the politician had asked for her resignation on her social networks.
He said that Laputina submitted a corresponding application to the Verkhovna Rada. Deputies will consider the minister’s appeal at the next plenary meeting.
Laputina in 1992 took the position of operational commissioner of the Security Service of Ukraine in the counterintelligence division. In 2014, she was appointed deputy head of the Department of Counterintelligence Protection of State Interests in the Sphere of Information Security of the SBU.
Laputina was appointed to the post of Minister of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine at the end of 2020. At the same time, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky awarded her the rank of major general.
Earlier, retired SBU Colonel Oleg Starikov said that the dismissal of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Valery Zaluzhny will not help return the territories.
