Earlier, on July 7, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky paid an official visit to Turkey. The parties discussed the exchange of prisoners between Russia and Ukraine, as well as Ukraine’s entry into NATO. The Turkish President said that he considers Ukraine worthy of membership in the alliance. Mr. Erdogan also announced Turkey’s desire to extend the grain deal for two years. The Russian Foreign Ministry spoke about the absence of reasons for extending the agreement. Mr. Erdogan, after negotiations with his Ukrainian counterpart, said that he was waiting for the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Turkey in August.
