The situation with floods in Russian regions is “very tense” and requires efforts from all levels of government, said presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov. Vladimir Putin does not plan to visit the affected regions.

According to Mr. Peskov, regarding the flood situation, “the forecast is still unfavorable,” and the water level continues to rise. “Big water is coming to new regions: to the Kurgan region, to the Tyumen region. Therefore, the situation is very tense, which requires efforts from government officials at all levels to help people,” said a Kremlin representative during a press call.

He assured that Mr. Putin constantly receives information on the situation and “coordinates the work of all branches of government.” “So far there is no exact data about a possible visit (by the president to the affected regions.— “Ъ”) no,” added Dmitry Peskov.

The most difficult situation with floods is observed in the Orenburg region, which, according to assessment regional authorities, faced the largest flood on record. A federal emergency regime has been introduced in the region; partial evacuation is being carried out in a number of settlements due to flooding.
