On the evening of April 5, a flood caused a break in an embankment dam in Orsk. More than 6 thousand houses were in the flood zone. In the city, the Old Town area, part of the New Town and some villages included in the settlement were flooded.

Today, April 8, water began to arrive in Orenburg. There, 786 people have already been evacuated from the flood zone. In addition, from areas of possible flooding evacuated 500 people in the Kurgan region. Vladimir Putin ordered the creation of a special commission on floods headed by the Minister of Emergency Situations Alexander Kurenkov.
