Peskov answered the question about Russia’s desire to get more territories of Ukraine

Russia wants to control those territories of Ukraine that are written in the Constitution, said the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov, write “RIA News”.

“We just want to control all those territories that are now written in our Constitution as ours,” he said, answering a question from The New York Times about Russia’s alleged desire to take control of more Ukrainian territories.

Ukraine has been claiming its territories since 2014, after the annexation of Crimea to Russia and the declaration of independence of the DNR and LNR. After the start of the Russian special operation, the number of such territories increased when, on September 30, 2022, following the results of a referendum, the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions became part of Russia.

On August 5, two-day talks between national security advisers and political advisers began in Jeddah, where Ukraine should present its “peace formula”. The talks in Saudi Jeddah are attended by high-ranking officials from 42 countries, including the United States, China and India.

How informed The Wall Street Journal newspaper, with the participation of the PRC, peace talks to resolve the situation in Ukraine moved forward, and a meeting in Saudi Jeddah narrowed the gap between Kiev and major developing countries. According to the newspaper, Kyiv did not insist on adopting the “peace formula” that President Volodymyr Zelensky had previously put forward. At the same time, other countries participating in the summit did not call on Ukraine to abandon its peace plan.
