Former US Vice President Mike Pence announced his readiness to testify at the trial against former President Donald Trump on charges related to the storming of the Capitol in January 2021.
“We’re going to follow the law… We’re just going to tell the truth,” Pence said in an interview with CBS News when asked if the ex-vice president would testify in his trial against the former boss.
Republican 2024 presidential candidate Pence is concerned about the “politicization of the Justice Department” in the United States. In the event of his victory in the elections, he intends to “cleanse the house of the Ministry of Justice.”
On Thursday, Trump appeared in court in Washington over four new counts related to the January 2021 Capitol storming. Trump announced in court that on all the charges against him, he could “spend” 561 years behind bars.
