Pervomaiskaya school of Kichmengsko-Gorodetsky district is being transformed under the federal program

The Vologda Oblast has become a participant in the federal project “Modernization of school education systems”, calculated until 2026. As part of the program, several educational institutions in the region are waiting for a major overhaul. In 2022-2023, the Tarnogskaya secondary school and the Pervomaiskaya secondary school of the Kichmengsko-Gorodets district are being put in order.

“The program provides for major repairs, equipping schools with equipment, ensuring the standard level of anti-terrorist protection, improving the quality of professional training of teachers and managers,” the regional education department explained.

That is, schools literally breathe new life into them. Moreover, the students themselves, together with their parents, took an active part in this. Previously, competitions were held in the institutions to develop the appearance of the premises, the best ideas became the basis of the design.

A major overhaul is always a welcome event for educational institutions, as many of them have not seen such a global recovery since their opening. So, for example, it was with Pervomaiskaya secondary school in Kichmengsky Gorodok. Work here started in April 2022 and is in its final stages.

“Our school was built in 1987, a three-story brick building. In 2016, we put into operation a two-story extension of an elementary school for 240 students. The main building had not undergone a major overhaul since it was built, so the conditions were outdated. After the repair, all the premises of the school will be updated – from ceilings to floors. Now new furniture and digital, demonstration, educational and laboratory equipment have been purchased, new specialized equipment will appear in school workshops. About 300 people will receive education in the renovated building,” said Tatyana Ordina, director of the institution.

The work has been tremendous. Walls, ceilings and entrance groups were put in order here. Wooden floors are replaced with tile and linoleum. Restored engineering communications. The catering unit has been completely modernized. As part of the federal project, it was possible to completely replace furniture, purchase new equipment for workshops and home economics classrooms, a gym, as well as educational and laboratory equipment and digital equipment.

The renovated school building is scheduled to open in the fall. Despite the fact that the renovation took place during the school year, this did not affect the educational process. The children studied in two shifts in the annex of the elementary school. In addition, the premises of the kindergarten, which is located nearby, were involved.

If in Kich-Gorodok the guys will soon be able to fully evaluate the result, then in Tarnoga the work will be completed by the end of next summer. According to the regional department of education, the region has already submitted an application for participation in the program in 2024-2025. The list of contenders for overhaul included 42 objects, however, which schools will be restored during this period, it will become known later, after consideration of the application.
