Pérez dominates the final tests at Spa

Mexican Sergio Pérez (Red Bull) set the fastest time in the third and final free practice session of the Belgian Grand Prix, at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit on Saturday.
His Dutch teammate Max Verstappen, leader of the Formula 1 world championship, took the 2nd time at 137/1000th. The two Red Bulls widened the gap with the competition, the Spaniard Carlos Sainz (Ferrari) being 3rd at 777/1000th from Pérez.
The Monegasque Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), 2nd in the championship at 80 points before this 14th round on Sunday, only signed the 7th time. He mainly spun off in the gravel, ending up in the wall, even if he was able to start again without too much damage.
During qualifying, at 4:00 p.m. local time (2:00 p.m. GMT), Verstappen like Leclerc will be out of the race for pole position: they have indeed been penalized for having installed many new elements on their single-seaters beyond the quotas authorized per season. They will start at the bottom of the grid.
Pérez and Sainz, respectively 3rd and 5th in the championship, therefore appear as the favorites for pole position.
Besides the first two in the championship, many other drivers will be penalized and will start from behind: Lando Norris (McLaren), Esteban Ocon (Alpine), Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu (Alfa Romeo) and Mick Schumacher (Haas). It remains to be seen in what order: for this, the qualifications remain all their importance. The fastest of the penalized will start from the less bad places.
