The fighting grandfather, the owner of the old Oka, who so famously detained a phone hunter in Shchelkovo near Moscow and returned the stolen property to the schoolboy, as it turned out, several years ago approached the local administration with a proposal to organize a people’s squad in the city that would monitor public order.

This video went viral on all social networks: a man snatches a student’s phone and starts running. In the foreground, an unremarkable pensioner is tinkering with the engine of an old Oka. But, having heard a child’s cry for help, the pensioner turns into Rambo: he trips the criminal, and then twists him with fighting techniques.

As MK learned, long before the incident, 72-year-old Mikhail Makarov was thinking about various ways to help the police. He wanted to revive the popular structure, which he himself was a member of back in Soviet times, and organize raids to identify hooligans. In fact, the man turned out to be not a timid man and in his life he had seen many petty criminals. Working as the director of a vegetable warehouse, Mikhail more than once caught slow thieves in the hand.

Now the man is retired and spends all his free time working on his Oka car. By his own admission, he himself did not expect that fate would give him such a surprise. As they say, the beast runs to the catcher.
