Acting head of the LPR Leonid Pasechnik extended the deadline for the liquidation of the administration of the head of the republic for a week, should from his decree.

The document postpones the liquidation of the body from June 23 to June 30. Prior to this, the acting head of the LPR ordered to postpone the liquidation of some executive authorities from June to September. In particular, on September 18 the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport of the Republic will be abolished.

In November 2022 Pasechnik signed Decree on the liquidation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the LPR. In addition, then Pasechnik abolished the Prosecutor General’s Office of the LPR. On November 7, Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov decided to form prosecutor’s offices in the LPR, DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, and after that he appointed acting prosecutors in new regions.

A special military operation in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin called the protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, its goals. During the special operation, Russian troops took full control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, these territories became part of Russia.

On October 4, the Federation Council, following the State Duma, ratified all the treaties, and the next day Putin signed federal laws on the admission of four new subjects to the Russian Federation. As the Constitutional Court explained, the transitional period for the integration of regions into the Russian Federation will be valid until January 2026.
