The authorities of the Galichsky district of the Kostroma region are preparing for the main sporting event of the outgoing winter – the Galichskoye Zaozerye ski marathon, which will be held on March 12. After the ski marathon became the official sporting event of the All-Russian Ski Federation, the number of people wishing to take part in it has increased dramatically – about a thousand people have already registered for the races.
Such an influx of the sports audience forces the authorities of the region and district to take urgent measures to organize its transfer to the competition site.
The regional administration has already agreed with Russian Railways that on the day of the competition between Kostroma and Galich, additional high-speed Orlan trains will be launched. And the city authorities of Galich now have to look for a reserve of buses, which on the day of the competition will run along the route of the Galich railway station – the starting point of the ski marathon (it will be the village of Toltunovo).
According to Galich Mayor Aleksey Karamyshev, it is planned to organize even two bus routes – one with common cars for spectators, the other (for participating athletes) with special buses.
