Participants from the Moscow region won 11 medals at the orienteering championship

Athletes from the Moscow Region won six gold, two silver and three bronze medals at the Russian Orienteering Championship. This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports of the region.
More than 90 athletes from 8 regions of Russia took part in the competition. The team of the Moscow Region included 6 athletes, three of whom represented sports training centers for Paralympic, Deaflympics and non-Olympic sports.
Maria Novikova became the best in the cross-long discipline, won a silver medal in the cross-classic discipline and another gold medal in cross-spin. As part of a team with participants from Moscow, Maria Novikova earned a gold medal in the cross-relay race in a team of 3 people. In the same discipline among men, Nikita Smirnov, Ivan Sadovnikov and Pavel Novikov became the best. Pavel Novikov also received two gold medals in the disciplines of cross-classic and cross-long.
Orienteering competitions were held in Ufa from 1 to 8 May.
