Now they apply only to children of the military
A group of parliamentarians from the upper and lower houses of parliament proposed extending the benefits enjoyed by the children of military personnel to the children of volunteers and fallen soldiers. The corresponding bill was submitted to the State Duma on Wednesday, May 3.
The law “On the status of military personnel” guarantees the benefits for children of military personnel when enrolling in state and municipal schools and kindergartens, as well as in summer health camps. Places are given to them on a priority basis.
But such a benefit is not provided for children of volunteers. Moreover, the law does not provide for the preservation of the right to benefits when enrolling in public schools and kindergartens for the children of those who died in the line of military duty. Therefore, a group of deputies and senators proposed to change the law.
As it became known to MK, the benefit provided for by the introduced bill is planned to be extended to children of volunteers, as well as children of military personnel and members of volunteer formations who died during a special military operation or later, due to an injury or illness received during the SVO. This benefit should also apply to adopted children and children under guardianship or guardianship in a foster or foster family.
