In the second quarter of 2022, the import of servers into Russia decreased by 4–5 times, despite the legalization of parallel imports. Deliveries of such equipment in June compared to February fell by 79% in monetary terms, a source close to one of the major Russian distributors told Vedomosti. The fact of a serious reduction in server imports in Q2 was also confirmed by a source in another distributor present on the Russian market: according to this company, the total cost of imported servers decreased by 73% from February to June.
At the beginning of the II quarter, the import of servers grew sharply, but at the end of the period it did not come close to pre-crisis indicators, Vedomosti’s interlocutors say. In February, the cost of imported servers was $190-200 million, and in March it fell by half, said a source close to one of the companies. In April, shipments exceeded $300 million, surpassing pre-crisis levels, he added. By June, the volume of imports, he said, fell fourfold. However, in July it won back the fall and returned to the March figure of $75-90 million – thus, the growth compared to July was about 30-40% compared to June, he added, noting that the same trend continues throughout the ICT industry. equipment.
